Ghanaians have been advised against creating ethnic passion in pursuit of self-serving political agenda, to preserve peace and unity in the country.
A former Administrative Bishop of the Methodist Church, Right Reverend Dr Ebenezer Henry Brew Riverson, made the call in a New Year message, copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi.
He called on the people to put the nation ahead of their parochial interest to enable the country move forward.
Rt. Rev. Dr Riverson asked Christians to pray ceaselessly and support Government in its effort to transform the economy and make Ghana “the Black Star of Africa.”
“Let our nation Ghana by faith accept the wonderful grace of God so that Africa can become the continent where peace, unity, freedom and development have come miraculously and divinely to reign”.
