Dr Mrs Gladys Ashitey, Deputy Minister of Health on Thursday called on Ghanaians to live healthier lifestyles to promote good health and national development.
She said the public must learn to take a rest and embark on recreational activities to control stress and fatigue which affected efficiency and output.
Mrs. Ashitey said this during the health fair that it was good that Ghanaians were showing concerned on issues about ill-health and prevention of diseases, which had been a major challenge for the Ministry.
She said the fair would go a long way to tackle diseases, other health-related problems and inform the public on what must be done to live a healthy lifestyle.
Dr. Ashitey said the fair was expected to encourage Ghanaians to exercise, make proper dietary choices and showcase products and services that would provide an opportunity for corporate bodies to reach out to the public.
Exhibitors from the various pharmaceutical companies, herbal clinics, fashion houses and dieticians are taking part in the fair, which would also provide seminars for the public.
The Ghana Health Service and the Nyaho Medical Centre were there to offer voluntary testing and counseling on HIV/AIDS.
