The United States Senate has invited the 2012 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to this year's National Prayer Breakfast scheduled to be held in Washington DC.
Each year, a small selection of world leaders are invited to participate in this special religious session to start the New Year for the world's powerful legislature, the US Congress.
Nana Akufo-Addo is expected to leave the country for Washington on the 30th of January 2012.
His departure for the US, however, will be after the NPP's big open-air prayer session to commence their activities for election year.
The 2012 National Prayer Breakfast is scheduled for Thursday, February 2nd at the Hilton Washington International Ballroom in Washington D.C.
Nana Addo will join the President of the United States, Barack Obama, Members of Congress, leaders from across the country and around the world.
The National Prayer Breakfast is a yearly event held in Washington, D.C., on the first Thursday of February each year. The founder of this event was Abraham Vereide.
The event—which is actually a series of meetings, luncheons, and dinners—has taken place since 1953 and has been held at least since the 1980s at the Washington Hilton on Connecticut Avenue N.W.
The National Prayer Breakfast is hosted by members of the United States Congress and is organized on their behalf by The Fellowship Foundation, a conservative Christian organization more widely known as "The Family".
