Ghana stands the risk of losing its position as the world’s leading producer
of cocoa if current trends in climate change persist.
In fact in the next few years, rainfall in the country is expected to reduce by 20 to 40 percent while temperature will rise by 4.5 degrees Celsius. The industrialized world has been blamed for producing most of the greenhouse gases that cause such changes.
And barely a month ago, representatives from the various UN nations met
in Durban, South Africa to talk about the situation…The ultimate aim was
to renew commitment towards a deal to get countries to slash emissions.
But where does Africa and for that matter Ghana stand in all this. Anny Osabutey has been finding out in this Hotline documentary.
