A woman has been raped and killed at Kasoa in the Central Region after gunmen stormed the guest house where she served as a receptionist on Monday evening.
The body of the lady, whose name is yet to be given, was left in a pool of blood at the Peace Gardens guesthouse compound when neighbours found her.
It is unclear what caused this attack, but Joy News’ Maxwell Agbagba reports that there has been a series of violence allegedly perpetrated by land guards in the area in recent times.
Security officers, Maxwell said, are yet to find a solution to the problem that has left residents in constant fear of their lives.
A neighbour who witnessed the aftermath of this attack, said he rushed to the guest house after hearing some unusual noises, to find the lady lying naked on the ground in a pool of blood.
He said the lady managed to narrate her ordeal before she died.
According to the witness, the lady told them the perpetrators raped her and shot her later.

The guest house has been locked
“Just when my brother and I were discussing the first noise which had died down, we heard another one. So just when we were talking the voice came again ‘they have shot me, please help’.”
“So quickly, I put on my boot and climbed the wall and saw her on the floor. So I called my brother who also came. I asked her what the problem was and she said some people had shot her.”
The gentleman said he rushed into the building and tried to find something to cover her naked body.
Residents are in shock of the incident, but are even more worried for their safety.
One of them told Maxwell that for sometime now, they have been feeling unsafe in the community.
“When it gets to about 8 PM onwards and you’re walking around, it is just you and your God. The area is poorly lit and there is no sense of security, making it difficult to move around.”
