The Importers and Exporters Association of Ghana on Monday donated varieties of food items in support of the final funeral rite of the late Kojo Asare Baffour Acheampong (KABA), host of Asempa FM's late afternoon political show, 'Ekosii Sen'.
The Association led by its Executive Secretary, Samson A. Asaki and other members also presented a cheque for GHC1000 to support the proposed Education Trust Fund for KABA's seven-months-old baby girl.
KABA died on November 18, 2017, at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after a short illness. He was survived by a wife, Valentina Ofori Afriyie and a baby.
Presenting the items Mr Aaki said the late journalist was a friend of the Association so his sudden departure shaken them hence their decision to contribute towards his funeral which comes off from December 15 to 17.
On his part, the Programme Manager of Asempa FM, Sammy Yirenkyi, thanked the Association for their kind gesture.
He led them to the Kokomlemle branch of the SSG Bank to deposit the cash into a designated account opened for the donations.
