Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP) and his running mate are preparing for a national prayer session with thousands of Muslims in Tamale.
The prayers will be led by the Chief Imam Sheik Nuhu Osman Sharabutu.
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr Mahamadu Bawumia have been in the region since Friday.
Press Secretary Herbert Krampah said in an interview with Joy news ahead of the prayer session scheduled to take place Saturday that the two leaders met with the chiefs and elders of Walewale (Dr Bawumiah’s hometown) and visited his family.
Joy FM’s Northern Regional correspondent, Clement Boateng, who was at the Tamale Jubilee park reported that preparations were ongoing for the programme to begin. Principal streets of the town, he said, had all been decorated in party colours.
Clement said enthusiastic party members, clad in NPP T-shirts, have moved to the end of the Bolga-Tamale boundary waiting to welcome the flagbearer and his running mate.
