The National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament for Adentan constituency, Hon Kojo Adu-Asare has challenged the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to make his stance known on the alleged treasonous statement made by the Assin North MP, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong.
According to the NDC MP, Akufo-Addo’s infamous “All-die-be-die” statement opened the floodgates for other members of the NPP to embark on all manner of unacceptable political behaviors. The MP was speaking on the Joy FM and Multi TV's news analysis programme, Newsfile Saturday.
“In all of this, where is the flagbearer of the NPP? What is his stance on this issue, because he opened the floodgates with his “all-die-be-die” mantra. Subsequently we are seeing attempts by various members of his party moving towards this line. This is an epitome of the “all-die-be-die” mantra” Adu-Asare stated.
The MP further chided former President J.A Kufuor for not condemning the actions of Ken Agyapong. The former president, Thursday in a release issued described the ensuing Ken Agyapong case as “killing a fly with a sledge hammer” and urged that the police and other institutions be allowed to run independently.
However Adu Asare said as a statesman, Kufuor did not live up to expectation per the message he issued out on the Ken Agyapong case.
“What you rather expect as a statesman (is) he will condemn first and foremost the act, then go ahead to make this statement for people to know that there’s a balance or this man stands for the nation, he quickly went on his partisan lines, trying to rather make the government look like it wants to vilify somebody wrongfully” noted the outgoing MP for Adentan constituency.
