Ghana seems to have set a new Big Brother Africa record as this year’s representatives in the show, musician Eazzy and her boyfriend Keitta, are the first and only couple to enter the reality show till date.
This year’s show, dubbed Big Brother Africa StarGame, had contestants applying and entering the show in pairs and on the day of the launch, on Sunday, it turned out that the Ghanaian pair are the only couple to enter the show so far.
The last time a ‘relationship’ record was set in the show was when Mwisho and Meryl got married during the airing of the Big Brother Africa All Stars (Season five) show in 2010.
Eazzy and Keitta, a brother of Reggie Rockstone, interestingly won the first sample poll on housemates with their unique personality. Comedian Derick Kobina Bonney is Ghana’s third representative in this year’s show which happens to be in its seventh season.
In all, there are 35 housemates representing 14 African countries vying for the ultimate prize of US$300,000 of this season’s 91-day show.
There are two houses in this year’s show. There is the Upville for the VIPs and Downville for the wannabes.
The VIP contestants are: Ghana - Derick Kobina(DKB), Comedian, TV presenter, talent manager; Kenya - Jackson (Prezzo): Musician; Namibia - Martha (Lady May): Musician; Nigeria- Susan (Goldie): Singer; South Africa- Babalwa (Barbz):Model, salon owner; Zambia- Mampi: Singer; and Zimbabwe - Rockford (Roki): Singer.
The wannabes is made of: Angolan pair - Esperanca and Seydou; Botswana pair - Edith and Eve; Ghanaian couple - Keitta and Mildred; Kenyan pair - Alex and Malonza; Liberian pair - Luke and Yadel; Malawian pair - Nafe and Wati; and Namibian pair - Junia and Jesica.
The rest are: Nigerian pair - Chris and Ola; Sierra Leonean pair - Dalphin and Zainab; South African pair - Keagan and Lee; Tanzanian pair - Hilda and Julio; Ugandan pair - Kyle and Jannette; Zambian pair - Talia and Tamara; Zimbabwean pair - Maneta and Teclar.
Sensational American music star J.Cole graced the Big Brother StarGame launch performing some of his hits including Can’t Get Enough.
