Government is to provide locally manufactured sanitation facilities for use in public schools, market places, public places of convenience and vantage points within the capital.
The facilities are hand-washing containers and dustbins manufactured by the Government Vocational Training Institute.
Local Government Minister, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo who announced this in Accra said the gesture is part of efforts by government to improve sanitation in public places.
He said government is considering the involvement of the Local Enterprises & Skills Development Program (LESDEP) beneficiaries in the program to expand the production of such sanitation facilities.
All regional capitals will benefit from the package.
