Former Ghana U-20 coach Sellas Tetteh has agreed to become the new manager of second-tier side Tamale City FC. 

Tetteh, who was rumoured to be close to taking over as Black Queens boss, was flown to the capital of the Northern Region on Monday and immediately signed a one-year deal with an option to extend for a year.

He was then introduced to the players at the club's training ground. 

The 61-year old is expected to guide the ambitious club to the Ghana Premier League next season. 

Tamale City FC, formerly Guan United, has been acquired by former Bank of Ghana Governor Dr Abdul-Nashiru Issahaku and businessman Ibrahim Mahama.

The two hold majority shareholders have taken over the club from Lepowura MND Jawula who holds minority 10% shares.

They open their Division One campaign against Nea Salamina FC in an away clash.

Tetteh has a rich coaching experience having handled both junior and senior Ghana national teams as well as Rwanda national team. However, his biggest feat came as Black Satellites coach, guiding the team in 2009 to lift the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
