WAFA forward Aminu Mohammed is delighted to have made an impressive start to the season and has pledged to maintain his form by working hard.
Aminu after excelling in international competitions with WAFA youth teams was touted as one of the players to watch ahead of 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
But it seemed, the youngster was overwhelmed by the occasion as he failed to meet up to high expectations. The 17-year-old endured a torrid campaign as the Black Starlets suffered a round of 16 exit.
However, Aminu looks revitalised this season and has already scored three goals and provided and assists in three league matches so far. In addition, he has scooped Man of the Match awards.

''I’m very happy with my performance. The goals are coming for me at the right time. It’s been a good start for me. I can only be grateful to God, and my teammates for their support. The most important thing [for me] is to help the team to keep winning.
Yes, I had some difficult time with the national U-17; the tournament didn’t go as expected. But I’m not thinking about that anymore. I’m now concentrating on getting better every day in order to help WAFA to achieve our target.” he told reporters.
Of his three goals, two are from free kicks.
“I know how to play free kicks. I practice them a lot [at] training; sometimes you need luck before you can get the right target. I’m happy I’m getting lucky with them now.”
Aminu is reported to be on the radar of Manchester City with the English giants set to sign him next year.
