It's matchday four.
Kotoko vs Eleven Wonders
The Porcupine Warriors are looking to bounce back against Wonders. Eighth in the league, Kotoko are yet to improve on the poor goal scoring form that blighted them last term.
Paa Kwesi Fabin and his charges must have been pained after conceding a late penalty to Medeama at the T&A Park in their last fixture, but they have an opportunity to make amends at home this weekend.
Anything but a dominant performance and a convincing result against will blow away any lingering suspicions of what could become another disappointing league campaign. Eleven Wonders will be wary but will look to build on their unbeaten run after their 3-1 victory against Bechem United. A lot will depend on how gaffer Mumuni Abdul Gamel lines up - a more defensive approach to earn a draw against Kotoko will be ideal, but the home side are much stronger for a win.
Kotoko have kept just two clean sheets in their last eight Premier League home games, which should give the visitors hope.
Hearts vs Dreams FC
Can Hearts make it two wins in a row?
After a patchy start to their league campaign, the Phobians registered their first victory of the season after beating Dwarfs by two unanswered goals. Hearts have made a leap into seventh, and a game against third-placed Dreams FC couldn’t have come at a better time after a successful midweek.
The Phobians will look to exact revenge on the Dawu lads after losing out on the G8 tournament to them at the same venue in the pre-season. Optimism abounds in the camp of Dreams FC, who are without a defeat after three games. And it's a start reminiscient of their debut season in the top flight two years ago. Karim Zito will hope his boys produce another assured performance to put a dent in any growing confidence in camp of the capital giants, but the Phobians are good value to sail through with all three points.
Bechem United vs AshantiGold
The Miners expected to drop points in Bechem?
AshantiGold seem capable of shredding any team on current form. They top the league with nine points from three games and the vibe among the Obuasi side is that they are title favorites, but the campaign is still young.
Bechem United are a quite formidable side at home; they’ve not lost in five games to the Miners and the script is likely to continue this weekend. Three points from a possible six, while conceding six goals means the home side have got deficiencies in the defense and AshGold will be looking to exploit that. Playing on a neutral ground at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium could be favorable to Ashantigold, but trust the home side to get a point in this fixture.
Aduana Stars v Inter Allies
Expect both teams to score.
Reigning league champions, Aduana Stars, are yet to pick up three points this season. And they face a much determined Inter Allies side under the guidance of former Hearts boss Kenichi Yatsuhashi.
Aduana will play their first home match of the season this weekend, so a win is non-negotiable. The Agyeman Badu Park can be a treacherous place to visit when Aduana are on form, but the home team seem not to have recovered from their disappointing exit from the CAF Champions League.
An insipid display against Elmina Sharks was followed by a defeat to WAFA, a result that currently leaves them in 14th place with just a point. Inter Allies boast good form with two wins, and a defeat, sitting in fourth. Kenichi has vastly improved the psyche of the team and there is a new resolve in their ranks. The Japanese trainer has got the players believing in themselves and Inter Allies should be relatively upbeat to get a draw against Aduana.
