Igesund was handed the national team reins last month ahead of Steve Komphela, who was initially expected to take up the number-two role, or at the very least a position on SAFA's technical committee.
However, the Free State Stars coach opted to stay put, forcing domestic football's governing body to search for new candidates to take up the various assistant positions.
The hunt, though, has since been concluded, with long-time SuperSport United assistant Madigage becoming Igesund's right-hand man, while former SAFA technical director Serame Letsoaka has also been appointed in an assistant's capacity.
Former Moroka Swallows boss Igesund said: "There were many great candidates that I considered but I am delighted that Tommy has accepted this position, and I look forward to working with him with immediate effect."
Meanwhile, SAFA chief executive Dr Robin Petersen voiced his gratitude to Matsatsantsa for allowing Madigage to be released for national duty.
"We are grateful to the club for allowing us to take Tommy into our national team structures. We realise that this has a negative impact on them, but we applaud them for allowing us to put the country first," Dr Petersen said.
Another huge stride taken by Igesund in the quest to revive Bafana's fortunes sees Jomo Sono, Clive Barker and Shakes Mashaba all come in as a "brains trust", to add the head coach in tactical preparations.
"We are delighted with this 'brains trust'," SAFA technical committee chairman Fanyana Sibanyoni said.
"They will assist the coach as needed by him. Gordon recommended this panel to us, and we are convinced that this panel will provide him with the necessary support he needs in getting the best out of the team."
To cap off what SAFA feel has been a job well done, president Kirsten Nematandani added: "Now that the Coach has concluded this critical matter in line with his preferred choices, we pledge the association's full support to him and his team as they undertake this exciting and challenging journey.
"We ask the nation to rally around them and carry them to anticipated success."
