Veteran Ghanaian Sprinter Aziz Zakari is demanding answers from the Ghana Athletics Association(GAA) after his exclusion from the country’s contingent to the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Aziz secured the qualification time to the Games with a time of 10.23 seconds at an athletics meet in New Jersey.
But his inability to show up for African Athletics Championships in Benin, the RLG Grand Prix and the National Championships cost him a place at the Olympics.
The US-based sprinter believes he has been treated unfairly by the Ghana Athletics Association.
“I qualified for the games and I don’t understand why they the (GAA) will leave me out”. Said Aziz Zakari
“Honestly I don’t know what is going on with the athletics team”.
“I qualified even three weeks to the deadline of qualification so leaving me out is something I really don’t get”.
The 35 year old led Ghana's sprint contingent to last year's All Africa Games in Maputo and placed second after anchoring the 4x100 relay to a controversial second place
