General Secretary of the Peoples National Convention (PNC), Bernard Monarh has rubbished threats from a group within the party demanding the resignation of its flagbearer Hassan Ayariga. The group, Caucus for Strategic Progress, has given Mr. Ayariga two weeks to apologise to members of the newly formed National Democratic Party (NDP) or resign. But Mr. Monarh told Joy News the PNC will not allow itself to be intimidated.“This group does not have any locus standi in a matter of determining who leads the party to the next election.“The party took a decision at the national delegates’ congress, it may be palatable to some people or not but once the decision has been taken we’re going to the elections with Hassan Ayariga as our flagbearer.”He insisted that since the National Executive Committee has taken no decision to the contrary, no individual in any capacity can “has any right or mandate to determine what happens.”
