Captivating and a breathless piece of art, sums up the Gracias Choir – the Korean choir that never ceases to drop jaws whenever they are called to duty. They hold in their bosom years of priceless experience and masterpieces that sweep attendants of their shows off their feet. They sing, skillfully, weaving their way even through local songs to the sheer dismay of many who look on dazed in pure excitement. But for colour, you will mistake them for Ghanaians, that is if you have never seen them, and for listeners of Joy FM’s Super Morning Show Tuesday, they may doubt whether when host of the show, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah introduced them as Koreans, he was playing a prank on them. When the Gracias Choir, known the world-over, graced the Joy FM studios, it was as if the angels in heaven had descended into the studios.Activities in the Joy building came to a standstill as the group got busy thrilling listeners and staff of your Super Station to Ghanaian tunes such as Ohene oriba and A nwanwa do.Their performance on Joy FM is just a teaser of what many should expect Wednesday at the Accra International Conference Centre when they take stage, not for their popular Christmas Cantata, but to preach peace ahead of the 2012 general elections.Judging by their trademark, and their earlier performances in Ghana, their shows can’t be missed. It will be a sin to do so and a starvation of the soul.Watch the video below:
