Preparations continue feverishly in spite of the court case to compel the EC to use the new bio-metric register for the coming bye election in Wulensi.
Over the last week increased activity by all political parties has been observed as the announced date for the bye election for Wulensi Constituency in Northern region draws near.
Dr. Abu Sakara, the 2012 Presidential Candidate of the Convention People’s Party, raised the temperature of political activity when he stormed Wulensi with representatives of National and regional leadership in town.
Dr. Sakara’s visit was marked by calls on Chiefs and opinion leaders of the area. He also held open air meetings with communities at polling stations and mini rallies at major centers.
Alhaji Haruna Musa ( aka Azaarways), the CPP’s Parliamentary Candidate for Wulensi, received a major boost as he accompanied his flagbearer to various communities in a convoy of vehicles that were received by excited motorcyclists flying party flags of the famous red cockerel. Throngs of people gathered to receive Dr. Sakara and his parliamentary candidate in all the communities they visited.
Dr. Sakara was regarded as a son of the soil because of his ancestral roots to Nanumba through his late grandfather Yabungwura Doshi’s mother who hailed from the area.
Dr. Sakara, who also hails from the Northern Region, is widely regarded as their preferred candidate because of his long standing genuine commitment and identity with the various communities of the north both in his public and private life.
Dr. Sakara in his speeches chastised the ruling government for its neglect of the area and failure to deliver on election promises, especially to upgrade the only road there on a more permanent basis.
He noted that the last minute effort by District and regional officials of the ruling party to grade the road just for the sake of votes in the election amounted to insultingthe intelligence of the good people of Wulensi.
Dr Sakara pointed out to the people that a good government uses the right amount of money for the right things at the right time. However waiting to the last hour, after almost four years of neglect, to grade the Wulensi road and grading the road in the rainy season was poor use of money that has resulted in a poor job that will not last.
Dr. Sakara and the Parliamentary candidate both lamented the ruling NDC government’s haste to pay judgement debts when pressing concerns of the good people of Wulensi and other similar areas in Ghana have been neglected for so long.
He warned the people of Wulensi of the continued neglect they would suffer if they did not vote for the CPP’s parliamentary candidate Alhaji Musa (Azaarways).
He assured them and the people of Ghana that he will end the isolation of Wulensi by ensuring the accelerated completion of the eastern corridor highway in record time.
Dr. Sakara also promised that if voted to power he would ensure his parliamentary candidate and the District Chief Executive worked to end the thirst of the people by providing clean drinking water.
“The youth will be employed to build farm roads to permit use of appropriate and affordable vehicles to transport produce from farms to homesteads”, Dr Sakara said.
He told the women that we will wage a relentless crusade to end their suffering from carrying headloads of produce from farms whilst they often had children on their backs.
Dr Sakara commended the CPP parliamentary candidate for his tireless dedication to teaching children of the good people of Wulensi for much of his life.
He noted that the long service of Alhaji Musa to the community, rising from teacher to headmaster and then District circuit supervisor was a testimony of his love and commitment to advancement of the youth and people of Wulensi.
Dr. Sakara urged the people of Wulensi to vote for Alhaji Haruna Musa of the CPP to ensure that they begin a new era of progress and development.
During his five day tour of the Wulensi and neighboring constituencies in Kpandai and Bimbilla, Dr. Abu Sakara was accompanied by party officicals who included Ms. Rhodaline Ayana National Vice Chairperson, Abu Forgor National Organizer, Hamza Seidu Regional Organizer, all constituency executives and parliamentary candidates.
