The coach of the Black Bombers team Isaac Ofori believes his side still has a chance of winning at least a medal at the ongoing London 2012 Olympic Games.
The Boxing team on Saturday was rocked by the disqualification of Maxwell Amponsah on fitness grounds and the exit of Isaac Dogbe from the multi sport event after losing to Japanese Shatoshi Shimizu on points in the Bantamweight division.
According to Coach Ofori Asare, the team’s hopes of winning medals now rest on the remaining two boxers; Duke Micah and Suleimana Tetteh.
“Olympic Games is a big competition and that if you win one medal its ok, so since we have two boxers in the Games at least we still have some hope of a medal”. He told JOY Sports
“The boxers are very good and I know they will put up their best to ensure that we get something for Ghana”.
Flyweight contender Duke Micah will be in action against Jason Lavigilante of Mauritius in the Men's Fly (52kg) Round of 32 this evening.
