Ashanti Regional Vice-Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Kwabena Nsenkyire, has fired back at Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, over his attack on Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
Mr. Agyapong has mounted a strong onslaught against the investigative journalist over his style of journalism alleging, he has no moral right to expose corruption when he is unclean himself.
Speaking on Badwam on Adom TV on Tuesday, he described Anas as a corrupt journalist who sets people up just to destroy them.
It follows Anas’ latest exposé on football corruption and politics, which has already seen Ghana Football Association President, Kwasi Nyantakyi, under investigation.
He is captured in the yet-to-be- screened video attempting to use the names of President Akufo Addo and his appointees to influence bribery move.
However, Mr. Nsenkyire who is also Regional Co-ordinator of National Disaster Management Organization says Mr. Agyapong should should leave Ghana for Togo if he can’t stand Anas’s style of journalism.
He told Nhyira FM's Kro yi mu Nsem host, Kofi Asante that, President Akufo Addo promised to collaborate with people like Anas to fight corruption.
He therefore, wonders why Kennedy Agyapong, his fellow party member, is attacking the world-acclaimed journalist.
According to him, Anas is doing a marvellous job and needs to be commended rather than condemned.
Mr. Nsenkyire says Ghanaians are corrupt and the country needs people like Anas to put the citizenry on track.
He says Anas deserves the praises he is receiving worldwide and Ghanaians must appreciate ‘’what we have as a people.’’
