Ghana's sprint queen Vida Anim failed to qualify for the semi finals of the 200meters after recording her seasons best of 23.7secs in the Olympic Games by placing 8th in her heat of nine competitors
The 28year old was the only remaining athlete in the multi sports competition after all six sportsmen failed to progress with two withdrawing on health grounds.
Anim represented Ghana at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing competing at the 100 meters sprint and placed second behind Shelly-Ann Fraser in a time of 11.47secs to advance to the second round. There she improved her time to 11.32secs , finishing third behind Debbie Ferguson and Oludamola Osayomi. In the semi finals she was unable to qualify for the final four years ago.
Anim's exit ends Team Ghana's campaign in the Olympic Games after just 10days.Team Ghana must now wait for the closing ceremony which comes off on Sunday.
