New Edubiase has confirmed it will participate in the Confederations Cup next season.
The Club President Abdul Salam Yakubu made the confirmation in an interview with Joy Sports.
The confirmation comes in the wake of rumours the FA Cup winners will be pulling out due to financial constraints.
But Salam Yakubu made it emphatically clear that the club would be competing for honours in the next edition of the Competition.
According to him, plans are already underway to mobilize as much funds as possible from various bodies to ensure the club participates and performs creditably in Africa’s second tier club cup competition.
He was quick to the add that they have benefited immensely from the deep pockets of Honorable David Lamptey of Sidalco Company Limited whose philanthropic efforts have catapulted the club to such heights.
“Honorable Lamptey has really supported us and this culminated in our winning of the FA cup on Sunday. He promised unheard of bonus packages for the players ahead of the semi-final tie against Wassaman which he duly redeemed and repeated it with further mouth watering packages for the final which he has even promised to top up.
“It is not often that players of a small club like Edubiase get to benefit from the largesse of an individual to the extent of promising vehicles for an FA Cup win. We are truly grateful for his immense support.
He revealed that plans are also far advanced to make Mr. Lamptey the President of the club.
“For all that he has done for us; it is only fair that he is recognized as such.
New Edubiase last Sunday defied the odds to defeat local rivals AshGold by a lone goal to win the clubs first silverware since its formation claiming the bragging rights of being the better club in Adansiman in the process.
