The only way to happiness in life is to love and be loved.Professor J E A Mills and Dr. Naadu Mills loved each other not by finding the perfect person, but they both saw the imperfections in each other perfectly. It is that love that grew and blossomed into a perfect union as one body (Mills family); a family which all Ghanaians, Africans and people all over the World knew and admired. It is for this and many other reasons, that all Ghanaians both home and abroad are touched by the departure of our dear President - Professor John Evans Arthur Mills.We are all united not only in our desire to pay our respect to President Mills but to celebrate an exemplary life.We have all lost a wonderful President, a father, a husband, a brother, an uncle and above all a Comrade; and only his nobility and genuinely good intentions that he selflessly shared with his family and all Ghanaians over the years has afforded all Ghanaians the strength to move on.Above all we give thanks for the life of a noble man whose values both internal and external will never be extinguished from minds of those who knew him.Mrs. Naadu Mills;
do not stand at Professor Mills’ grave and weep; he is not there; he is not sleeping.He is a thousand winds that blow; he is the diamond sparkle on snow; he is the sunlight on ripened grain; he is the gentle autumn’s rain.When you awake in the morning’s hush; he is the swift uplifting rush; of quiet birds circled flight; he is the soft star that shines at night.Do not stand at the grave and cry; he is not there for he did not die. You will see him again in eternity.Isn’t it true that:Time is too slow for those who wait;
Too swift for those who fear;
Too long for those who grief;
Too short for those who rejoice;
But for those who love, like President Mills, time is eternity.CPP North America will celebrate your exemplary life and continue with the mission as it takes strength from Aristotle who said “well begun is half done”.Certainly, for the sake of our fallen Heroes, WE SHALL NOT FAIL.Rest in perfect peace, Comrade.
