Ex –President John Kufuor is appealing to Ghanaians to revisit their conditions of life in choosing a leader in the December elections.
He said in the year 2000 election, the rallying cry to all Ghanaians was “shwe wa sitinamu n3 tu aba pa” to wit check your standard of living and vote wisely, a maxim on which the NPP rode to power.
That maxim he noted was relevant then and is all the more relevant now.
Speaking at the second edition of the Liberty Lectures held in honour of the founding father of the UP tradition, JB Danquah, the former president said Ghana is crying for a sound economic take-off and needs a transformational leader in the person of the New Patriotic Party flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo.
He said the ruling government has failed to translate the opportunities of peace, oil discovery and international goodwill into palpable development for all with people desperate to feel the much touted stability in macro economic statistics.
Mr. Kufuor is convinced the NPP has the formidable programme to move the country forward and with the best candidate and a competent team to deliver the needs of Ghanaians.
