President John Dramani Mahama is scheduled to pick his nomination forms Thursday ahead of his endorsement as the flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress’ special delegates congress next week.
The President, who is also the leader of the NDC had to postpone his trip to the Party’s Headquarters in Accra Thursday morning for his nomination forms at the last minute, saying he had to attend to some pressing government issues.
He has also suspended his thank you tour of the Brong-Ahafo region which has been rescheduled for Friday August 24th, 2012.
According to Richard Quarshiga, Propaganda Secretary for the ruling NDC, President Mahama would be picking his nomination forms later Thursday and would be expected to submit it at least, 48 hours to the special congress.
The NDC Propaganda Secretary told Joy News’ Francis Abban inasmuch as President Mahama’s situation is a peculiar one, he still has to follow the laid down procedures of the party.
President Mahama after his endorsement at the August 31 special delegates congress in Kumasi, would be expected to name his running mate for the December polls.
