Milicom Ghana Limited, operators of Tigo Mobile, has pledged its commitment to support health service delivery in the country.
Improving access to health care and provision of infrastructure remains key in the company’s corporate social responsibilities, says General Manager of Tigo Ghana, Adil El Youssefi.
According to him, the quest to achieve the Millennium Development Goal on maternal mortality should not be the sole responsibility of the government.
He therefore expects corporate organizations to be supportive in this area.
Mr El Youssefi spoke to Luv Fm when the company commissioned a block for the Mother and Child Unit of the Atwima Mponua District Hospital at Nyinahin in the Ashanti region.
He expressed hope that mothers will take advantage of the new facility to seek quality medical attention.
Medical Superintendant of the Atwima Mponua District Hospital, Alhaji Dr. Yusif Alhassan noted the facility will immensely improve on health care delivery in the district.
He said that women visiting the hospital will no more sit under trees while trying to access antenatal and postnatal services.
