Ghanaians flying with British Airways to London to make a transit to other countries will from next year not need a UK transit visa.
The British carrier is currently working with the UK government to review its transit policy by the first quarter of next year.
This move is part of the British Airways’ plan to make London the hub for is operations. Group Chief Executive of British Airways Keith Williams tells JOY-BUSINESS this should mean a lot for its operations.
“Certainly it would help London as a hub because about 35 percent of the passengers that go through the London are transfer passengers and British Airways is still reliant on such people but clearly the cost of the transit visa is negative for that” he said.
The group Chief Executive of British Airways was speaking to JOY-BUINESS during his visit to Ghana to promote a global campaign to raise 500 thousand pounds to immunize children in Africa.
