The Ghana Bar Association (GBA) has expressed horror at the news of the assault meted out to a nursing mother by police officer at a branch of the Midland Savings and Loans company in Accra.
The Association says it is gutted by the actions of the police officer, Fredrick Amanor who instead of carrying out his primary duties of ensuring the safety of people, ended up brutalising the very people he is duty-bound to protect.
In a statement, the GBA said it has noted the steps being taken by the police administration to deal with the issue and “wishes to assert that the matter should be followed through by the police administration and the appropriate sanctions applied.”
