Mrs Esther Cobbah, Chief Executive Officer of Strategic Communication Africa, has said Ghana needs to avoid politicization in its business industry to enable the industry develop. She said the country needed to confront and address the situation in which the capacity and growth of businesses were subjected to partisan political decisions. “We also need to confront the setting aside of professional capability and merit by corrupt practices since these do not encourage growth in businesses”, she added. Mrs Cobbah was speaking at a business forum dubbed: “This is my story” on Tuesday in Accra. Quoting from Psalm 78:72, she said David shepherded his nation, Israel, with integrity of heart, and leading with the skill of his hands. She said in order to be successful in the business industry it was important to be aware of a simple summary of the key requirements in running business organisation. “Skill of hands-using the right tools, learning, professionalism, dexterity as you encounter different situation and navigate your way through them, setting examples in professional service delivery”, she said. “But, above all, integrity of heart - this is about the overall human vision as well as honesty, fairness, genuineness in your commitment, discipline, tenacity of purpose, resisting corrupt practices as one strives to higher levels of human excellence”, she added. She encouraged young entrepreneurs not to be let down by challenges in their early stage but rather focus on striving to the highest level in the industry.
