THE Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will get a total of N1.903,607,400 (one billion, nine hundred and three million, six hundred and seven thousand, four hundred naira) as grant from the Federal Government for its activities in the coming 2013 fiscal year.
The money, which the Federal Government has approved through the Budget Office, is expected to take care of both personnel and overhead expenses as listed by the federation in its budget proposal, which it sent to the Ministry of Finance, through the National Sports Commission (NSC).
A copy of the approved budget document, which the federation sent to the budget office and obtained by The Guardian, shows that the federation proposes to spend N96, 457,729. (ninety-six million, four hundred and fifty seven thousand, seven hundred and twenty nine naira) for its personnel services, while the sum of N1,807,149,671 would be committed to its total overhead.
A breakdown of the budget also indicates that the federation will among other expenses, commit a total sum of N1, 580, 233,671, (one billion, five hundred and eighty million, two hundred and thirty three thousand, six hundred and seventy one naira) for its sporting activities, while its fifteen board members are expected to pick a total sum of N12m as honorarium and seating allowances for the period of 2013.
Also the budget contains a total of N69.3m, which the federation will commit to travels, for both local and international assignments, while it will part with a total sum of N85,740, 204, (eighty-five million, seven hundred and forty thousand, two hundred and four naira) as workers consolidated salary for 2013.
The NFF also set aside a total sum of N20 million for the legal department to tackle all legal battles that may come up in the fiscal year, while N15 million will be spent for welfare of members and staff of the federation.
