Togo captain Emmanuel Adebayor has suspended his international career for a second time in almost two years just a month to the start of the 2013 Nations Cup in South Africa.
T
he Tottenham striker had earlier slammed the Togo FA for not paying players their bonuses following a revelation that Morocco paid them 35,000 Euros for the international friendly played in Rabat last month.
A statement released by Adebayor, had the following quotes “The atmosphere currently prevailing within the Hawks will not help the team achieve its set out objectives; I hereby bring to the notice of the general public that I’m suspending my international career with Togo”.
Adebayor quit international football in 2010 following a gunfire attack on Togo team bus in Angola but rescinded his decision this year.
This means that Emmanuel Adebayor will not be at the 2013 Nations Cup for Togo who are in Group B with Ivory Coast, Togo, Tunisia and Algeria.
