Black Satellites coach Maxwell Konadu has said that the Satellites’ group for next year’s African Under-20 championship in Algeria will be a tough one.
Ghana’s under-20 side will face hosts Algeria, Benin and Egypt in Group A of the tournament.
The Satellites, who are three time tournament winners with victories in 1993, 1999 and 2009, will be making a ninth appearance at the biennial tournament.
Mr. Konadu, who master minded the team’s qualification for the tournament, told Joy Sports that he has taken the opposing teams’ talents into consideration as he prepares the Satellites for the competition.
“The trend of football now has changed to the extent that you can’t underrate any team, we just have to prepare well and make sure we conquer any team that comes our way” said Coach Konadu.
“So far as our opponents also went through the qualification we have to treat them like a top football nation,” he explained.
The Black Satellites will be playing in the town of Ain Pemouchent while Group B will be in Oran.
