The West Africa Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens (WACCBIP) put together free breast screening exercises for women at the University of Ghana’s campus Saturday.
The breast screening was part of efforts to reach out to both men and women and help create more awareness in the country during Breast Cancer Awareness month.

WACCBIP’s event, dubbed the Nufu Festival 2018, was designed to provide general breast health information to individuals on campus.

The Nufu Festival offered participants the opportunity to voice out concerns on breast cancer. Medical practitioners discussed breast health and the importance of mammograms with a healthcare provider.
The festival took place on Sarbah field at the University of Ghana campus.
WACCBIP was created to improve diagnosis, prevention and control of infectious diseases in the region by providing advanced level training and research excellence on the cell and molecular biology of infectious pathogens.

The Nufu festival ended with fun activities and awards which were presented to those who participated.
