A man who attempted to push three ballot papers into a ballot box at an Akomadan polling station in the Offinso North constituency of the Ashanti Region has been arrested.
An eye witness told Myjoyonline the man was among a gang of guys who are allegedly being bused from one polling station to another in the region.
It is alleged that the people are having some ballot papers already thumb-printed in their pockets. After they have been given one paper by the EC, they would then add the rest and put them into the ballot box.
The story was corroborated by the Akomandan police to a Citi FM correspondent after the man has been interrogated. He has been remanded. It is also not clear where he had the ballot papers from.
Unconfirmed report also says a reporter of Classic FM in the Ashanti Region has been arrested for interfering in the voting process.
The atmosphere is calm and as at 1: 15 the long queue was missing at various polling centres in the constituency.
