You lived your life leaving footprints in the sands of time. Your humility, sense of courage even in the fiercest moments of adversity is an inspiration to the many who believed in you.
You demonstrated a kind of humility and respect for fellow man even to the admiration of your most ardent critics, such to the point they admitted that you being christened “Asomdwehene” was apt and reflective.
John Evans Atta Mills! He who destined you to be President of the Republic of Ghana deemed it fit to call you home at a time He deemed appropriate! Though it grieves our hearts, we cannot undo what the Maker has done.
A state of grieve and perplexity is what we are left in; but we know He who has called you knows better. You were an inspiration to the young people of our dear Nation. You believed in us and you gave us an opportunity. For those you desired to be directly part of you government but were unable to engage and to whom you owed no apology, you called on phone and reassured them of a place in the future.
You were the President unprecedented.
You gave Ghana a sense of pride and an encouragement to move to higher heights. Your magnanimity was unparalleled such to the point you forgave and took no offense against those who wronged you; all in the hope of uniting a rather polarized nation.
Your memory will live on not just because of your tremendous achievements but because you were President “Asomdwehene”.
Rest in Perfect Peace!
From Richard Mawuli Quashigah: one of your many Sons.
