AC Milan stunned by Samp

Andrea Costa scored the only goal of the game in the 58th minute and, although the Rossoneri hit the woodwork twice, their fans made their feelings clear at the final whistle. Samp went ahead in the 58th minute was Costa sent an unstoppable header past Christian Abbiati following a corner. Mario Yepes replied at the other end six minutes later, but his header was pushed onto the post by Sampdoria goalkeeper Sergio Romero, who collected the rebound. The home team almost grabbed an equaliser in stoppage time when they hit the woodwork again, this time Kevin-Prince Boateng frustrated as the ball stayed out. And Mathieu Flamini wasted the last chance of the game as Daniele Gastaldello cleared his effort off the line. Juventus began the defence of their Serie A title with a 2-0 win over Parma, although they had their goalkeeper Marco Storari to thank for helping them to victory. Arturo Vidal missed a penalty in the first half but the Bianconeri took the lead through Stephan Lichtsteiner in the 54th minute. A disputable goal from Andrea Pirlo four minutes later looked to have wrapped up victory but it took some sterling saves from Storari to prevent Parma from finding a way back into the game and upsetting the fans, who were already celebrating inside the Juventus Arena. Two goals from Stevan Jovetic gave Fiorentina a 2-0 win at the expense of a weakened Udinese side, who appeared to be more focused on their Champions League qualifier next week. Maicosuel did put the away side in front after 28 minutes, but the home side responded well in the second half with the Montenegrin grabbing a brace, the second coming with almost the last kick of the game. The result gives Vincenzo Montella an ideal start to life in charge of Fiorentina while Udinese will now aim for a better outcome in Europe on Tuesday.
