George Opersika Aggudey, a leading member of the Convention People's Party (CPP), on Thursday signed a book of condolence in memory of the late Mr Dan Lartey, founder and leader of the Great Consolidated People's Party (GCPP).
The CPP leading member described the demised elder statesman as man who truly loved his nation.
"You'll be fondly remembered for your political activities and advice. May you have rest in perfect peace," Mr Aggudey wrote in the book which has been opened at the Kaneshie residence of the octogenarian politician after he passed on last Monday.
Mr Aggudey described the late Mr Lartey as a believer in the ideals of Ghana's first President, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.
Mr Aggudey said the late Mr Lartey believed in "domestication" paradigm which stressed more on the use of local resources to develop and grow Ghana's economy and ensure food security without undue foreign interference.
Mr Aggudey said he was a strong believer in what Mr Lartey stood for, and added that it was his prayer that all Ghanaian leaders would come to accept what Mr Lartey stood for.
The former CPP presidential candidate recalled that Mr Lartey added "colour, which was lacking in Ghanaian politics."
Mr Aggudy extended his condolence to the wife and children, the family and the Nkrumaist political parties, the entire nation on the loss of Mr Lartey.
