Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has been ruled out of Ghana’s 2013 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi on Saturday.
The Udinese midfielder who was hoping to recover from a shoulder injury he sustained before joining the team did not train with his colleagues as they had their last training session at the match venue on Friday evening.
“We monitored him and tried our best but unfortunately he still feels pains. What it means is that he won’t be able to play the game tomorrow,” team doctor Adam Baba confirmed at a post match conference on Friday.
“He wanted to play through the pain barrier but we advised against that because the long-term consequences won’t be good for him,”
“That is the situation that we find ourselves and we must live with it. It shouldn’t take long for him to recover fully.”
