The Ahwoi family is bereaved following the passing of Mrs Ama Adoma Bartels-Kodwo (née Ahwoi), a sister to three of Ghana’s distinguished statesmen—Ato Ahwoi, Ambassador Kwesi Ahwoi, and Professor Kwamena Ahwoi.
The sad event occurred on Tuesday, 17th June 2025.
Mrs Bartels-Kodwo was also a sister to Mrs Efua Bram-Larbi and Mrs Agnes Appiagyei-Dankah. She was widely respected for her quiet strength and dedication to both family and community, and her loss has been deeply felt by all who knew her.
She was the wife of Ambassador Jonathan Paa Kow Bartels-Kodwo, former Director of the Research Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
Together, they raised three children—Mr Paa Kow Bartels-Kodwo of the United States, Ms Nana Adwoa Bartels-Kodwo of the United Kingdom, and Ms Maame Efua Bartels-Kodwo.
Details regarding the one-week observance, burial, and final funeral rites will be communicated by the family in due course.
