Flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party has congratulated former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings for emerging as the torchbearer for the National Democratic Party over the weekend.
The NDP on Saturday endorsed unanimously acclaimed the former First Lady at its first ever National delegates' congress at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
"On behalf of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), I congratulate former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, for winning the confidence of the rank and file of the newly formed National Democratic Party (NDP), and emerging as the party's presidential candidate for the upcoming elections. We welcome her into the race," Nana Akufo-Addo said a release on Monday.
Nana Akufo-Addo however emphasised the need for leaders of the various political parties to ensure the polls are peaceful.
"It is my hope that as leaders of our various political parties, we would remain committed to ensuring a robust, but decorous campaign and a peaceful election".
