The Alliance for Revolutionary Change (ARC) has officially endorsed John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, leader of the Movement for Change (M4C), as its presidential candidate for the upcoming December 7 general elections.
This announcement was made by Yaw Buaben Asamoa, a prominent member of the Movement for Change, in an interview on Accra-based Citi-FM on Wednesday, April 17.
The ARC aims to unite various significant political groups, organizations, and individuals under one umbrella.
The alliance was formally launched in Accra on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, to collaborate closely to participate in the 2024 general elections.
Mr. Asamoa clarified that while Mr. Kyerematen will be the candidate representing the alliance, he will do so in his capacity as the founder and leader of the Movement for Change.
According to him, the distinction emphasises the collaborative nature of the alliance, with each member maintaining its identity while working towards common goals.
“The Alliance has endorsed Mr Alan Kyerematen as the presidential candidate. The ARC is a grouping and it is still open for many others to join…Nobody is losing their core identities, however, they all subscribe to the ideals of the ARC…Mr Kyerematen will be the candidate of the alliance but would campaign as the leader and founder for M4C,” he said.
