Reigning Ghanaian premier league champions Ashanti Gold are on the verge of signing Liberty Professionals defender Alfred Nelson.
The 23 year old defender who captained Liberty Professionals last season has arrived at Obuasi to complete his protracted move to the Miners.
However, Nelson before moving to Obuasi was in talks with Hearts of Oak and Aduana stars but the move stalled after the two clubs failed to meet his asking price.
“It is true I am in Obuasi now to seal my move to AshantiGold,” he confirmed to Happy FM.
“Two teams were in contention but AshGold have won the race and are now halfway through toward sealing the move.”
Nelson will therefore be Liberty Professionals fourth player departing the club after Edwin Tuffuor Frimpong, Kennedy Ashia and Karim Alhassan.
