The President of the Ghana Institution of Engineers (GhIE), Ing. Dr Kwame Boakye has revealed this year’s Engineering Excellence Awards is slated for Saturday, November 12, 2016, at the Engineers Centre, Roman Ridge, Accra, It is expected to attract all the stakeholders in the engineering community.
Among them are Council members, Past Presidents and members of the Institution; members of the Ghana Engineering Council and other officials from all the four branches of Government; members of allied professional bodies other engineering practitioners, engineering students from the universities, select high school students, the press and the general public.
The prestigious Annual Engineering Excellence Awards, organised by the GhIE is to recognise and honour outstanding contributions of individuals and organisations to engineering and engineering practice.
According to Ing. Dr Boakye, “This third edition of the Award has seen expansion in the number and areas of awards and also the classification of the award categories into four main thematic areas: Engineering Practice; Advancing Engineering Knowledge; Promoting the Future of Engineering and Application and Advocacy of Engineering.
The Chairman of the 2016 Awards Committee, Ing. Simon Kwasi Adobasom has also indicated that entry to this year’s awards is free of charge to all Engineers and the general public but strictly by invitation.
