Accra will soon have a new burial ground. City authorities say this has become necessary because the Osu and Awodome cemeteries are fast becoming choked.
The two major cemeteries are said to be left with only 5 per cent space to accommodate the dead.
Director of Public Health at the AMA, Dr. Simpson Boateng tells Joy News the assembly will soon acquire a new site for purpose.
He did not disclose where this site will be located.
He is however not happy with the way existing cemeteries are being managed, saying, that is part of the poor planning in the city.
Dr Simpson is also encouraging Ghanaians to adopt other means of burial.
