Ambassador Nancy Q. Sam, Vice President of the ECOWAS Tourism Private Sector Confederation and Tourism Ambassador for Miami, led the Ghanaian delegation to showcase Ghana's tourism, culture, and fashion on the African Runway at the 9th Annual Florida International Trade and Cultural Expo (FiTCE) 2024.
The event, held on November 23, aimed to promote Ghana’s tourism and culture.
Renowned for fostering global business, trade, tourism, and cultural partnerships, the Expo featured an impressive display of Ghana's rich heritage and provided opportunities for international collaboration.
The event, held at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, attracted over 1,500 participants from more than 60 countries and offered ample networking opportunities with global investors.
Ambassador Sam, who made a striking entrance dressed in traditional attire, showcased Ghana’s cultural legacy with Two Royals, a depiction of a king and queen in vibrant kente cloth symbolising Ghana’s history and artistry.
In an interview ahead of the event, she expressed pride in representing Ghana and emphasized the role of cultural diplomacy in enhancing tourism and trade relations.
“Today, we celebrate not just our fashion and tourism but the very essence of our identity as Ghanaians through culture,” she stated. “This runway serves as a bridge, connecting our heritage with the global community."
Known for her dedication to promoting Ghanaian and African culture on the world stage, Ambassador Sam shared her excitement to make the showcase an "unforgettable one."
The event was supported by key figures in Broward County, Florida, including Paola Isaac, Roger Pants, Dr. Naana Dede Jeuni, and Dr. Neene Odjemumo, who worked as a team to highlight Ghana and Africa on an international platform.
The African Runway at FiTCE not only celebrated Ghana's fashion and tourism but also demonstrated the power of cultural diplomacy in building international relationships. It served as a reminder of the unifying power of culture and creativity in a globalised world.
