Angry supporters of detained Director of Operations of Friends of Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings (FONKAR) descend on the police Headquarters in Accra to protest his detention.
Ernest Owusu Bempah was detained by the police after he honoured an invitation by the BNI Wednesday morning over allegations he made that the First Lady, Ernestina Naadu Mills was given five million cedis in the controversial judgement debt paid NDC financier Alfred Woyome.
His brother Nana Agyemang told Joy News Bempah was nowhere to be found.
He suspected he had been taken to the BNI offices but was yet to be charged for any offence.
According to him, police officials pushed Bempah into a vehicle hours ago and that was the last time they saw him.
Meanwhile hundreds of well wishers and supporters have besieged the precincts of the Police HQ chanting and calling for the immediate release of Owusu Bempah.
Joy News’ Paa Kwesi Asare described the situation as “tense.”
A member of the PNC, Abu Ramadan and a close friend of Bempah was part of the angry supporters and told Asare the “rule of law is being thrown into the dust bin”.
The supporters swore they would keep vigil at the precincts of the Police HQ until Owusu Bempah was released.
