Former Deputy High Commissioner to India, Mr Kwaku Ampratwum Sarpong, reported to the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) Headquarters in Accra, Tuesday morning to be queried on his role in the import of rice from India in 2007.
Media reports suggest the cost of the imports seems to have been over-valued by four million dollars.
Mr Ampratwum joins a list of former government officials who have had to report to the Buereau of National Investigations since the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) assumed office in January.
Last month former Foreign Minister Kwesi Osei Adjei was also invited to the BNI in connection with the same rice imports.
His passport is said to have been seized by the bureau while the investigations continue.
Meanwhile former Information Minister Stephen Asamoah Boateng who was stopped from travelling outside the country with his family, has still not reported to the BNI insisting on a written invitation.
Joy News sources at the BNI say written invitations are not the standard procedure and Asamoah Boateng might not receive one.
