Black Stars midfielder Anthony Annan has been cleared by FIFA to feature in the Stars return World and Nations Cup encounter with Sudan in September, 2009 in Ghana.
He was initially ruled out of the game following a TV footage in the Ghana-Sudan clash in Omdurman which indicated he had been shown a yellow card in the 25th minute, his second in the campaign.
But a match report on the clash submitted to FIFA and displayed on the Federation's website, indicate a Sudan defender Tarig Kafi was the recipient of the yellow card.
Annan will be hoping to make his 10th appearance in the World cup qualifying campaign in Accra or Kumasi Stadium when the Black Stars play host to Sudan in the return encounter.
The diminutive but hardworking midfielder broke into the starting line-up of the Black Stars in the 2008 Nations Cup held in Ghana and had since remained a strong tower in midfield.
He will relish his first World Cup appearance on African soil if Ghana seals qualification, hopefully with victory against Sudan, and a draw between contenders Mali and Benin in the reverse encounters.
