Anthony Abaryifa Karbo has resigned his position as National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party in order to contest the party’s parliamentary primaries in the newly created Lawra Constituency of the Upper West region.
The Youth Organizer had hitherto failed to resign from his elected position in the party contrary to the NPP’s rules and regulations prompting some backlash from some members of the party.
Mr. Karbo who successfully went through vetting Tuesday is competing for the seat against one-time party regional secretary Stephen Koo Ngmen.
Stephen Koo Ngmen resigned his position as Upper West Regional Secretary of the party before picking nomination forms. The two successfully underwent the party’s vetting process Tuesday and are expected to face-off in the primaries, October 14.
The NPP Director of Research and Elections, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah told Joy News that the Former national Youth Organizer tended in his resignation last Thursday paving way for the showdown at the Lawra constituency.
