The president of the Apostolic Church, Ghana has abhorred what he says is the growing attitude of some men of God who tend to compete with God for supremacy.
Apostle EN Abrebrese is even more appalled with daily reports of men of God accused of fraud, adultery and other forms of promiscuity.
“It seems that today, we have some who are struggling with God, to be known as the ultimate, when God still sits upon his throne.
“…Of late, we have a challenge regarding what the newspapers carry about some men of God, it ranges from fraud, to adultery and even gross promiscuity,” Apostle Abrebrese said during the launching of the Bible Week of the Bible Society of Ghana.
The Bible Week, is celebrated in a number of countries including Ghana to draw attention to the centrality of the word of God in the lives of people and the church of God.
The theme for the week’s celebration is: “The Bible: God’s standard for leadership.”
According to Apostle EN Abrebrese leadership is key in all aspects of human behavior, stating that leaders are needed most especially in churches, political landscape, businesses and in schools.
In the nation, we are hungry for God fearing people who occupy the key positions in our political landscape.
Quoting Proverbs 14:34, the Apostle said “the nation will do well when we are led to do what God wants, because we have leaders whose daily lives, decisions, policies and actions are directed by what the Bible says.
He said church leaders must begin to serve and not to think they have a final say in issues that affect believers.
“…We must recognize that we have a mighty God who is our helper and restorer,” he noted, adding “in the area of businesses, when Jesus is taken out, we cannot prosper.”
As part of the Bible week, the Bible Society of Ghana will send out one million copies of the Bible to JHS students across the nation.
